LUMEN 2025

The LUMEN is Mercyhurst University’s creative arts magazine. Collaborating with the Writing and Design Departments, I improved readability and consistency through global page revisions.

PROBLEM: With more featured works than prior years, we needed to organize written and visual content within limited pages.

Outcomes:

  • Reduced page count by 10% through content reorganization, increasing printed magazines by 25%.
  • Optimized print content for web with InDesign, increasing site value with exclusive content.
  • Created image content from video on short notice, completing the LUMEN one week ahead of schedule.

Dafmark

Dafmark is a dance-oriented nonprofit located in Erie, PA. Our design team created a flexible identity system and complete brand package to improve their community presence.

PROBLEM: Dafmark needed to clarify their offerings beyond dance, especially their creative arts center.

Outcomes:

  • Increased production efficiency by writing brand guidelines, creating a base for the 10-person team to build off.
  • Applied Adobe Illustrator’s image trace to create 3 visual identities, improving Dafmark’s visual impact.
  • Presented brand package to clients via slide deck: empowered Dafmark to decide their brand strategy.
